Hello dpabi developers,
First of all, thanks for the development of such a adequate software to analyse resting state fMRI data, and for maintaining it as an open source.
For explanation purposes, I have adquired resting state fMRi data of twenty subjects (normal controls) in three different conditions. We are using tDCS to modulate brain activity, and have proved two different montages of electrode location, and a sham stimulation condition.
Furthermore, I have one doubt regarding the Statistical Analysis tool form dpabi.
- Once preprocessed the functional data - with SPM8 - and calculated ALFF and fALFF Maps - detrended, filtered (for ALFF) and extracted nuisance covariates (WM, CSF, Global and 6 Motion Parameters) - Should I include the nuisance covariates in the covariates images or text covariates sections from Statistical Analysis GUI in dpabi? And if so, How can I do it?
- The last inquiry is regarding an Error message I have found when trying to run the Statistical Analysis procedure ANOVA with Repeated Measures:
And I have not found where is the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help. Any suggestion will be really appreciate.
Sincerely,
Cristian.

1. Yes, you can add covariates, e.g., head motion. Please see The R-fMRI Course V2.0 Part I (http://rfmri.org/Course).
2. I can not repeat your effort. Could you paste your setting here?

Hello and thanks for the answer,
These are the settings we use in order to run the statistical analysis (ANCOVA with repeatd measures) with dpabi, and the error message we obtain again and again - every time we try to run it. Moreover, I can tell you more information: when we try to use Statistical Analysis module in REST (Paired t test), it actually works, and we are able to view our results with dpabi Viewer, although doing these way we cannot do all comparisons we have planned.
Thaks again in advance.
All the best,
Cristian.

I suspect you are using an old version of y_GroupAnalysis_Image. Thus I suggest you re-install our the softwares for matlab.

Hi,
Hi,
Regarding the covariate regression, maybe you need me to explain more deeply the previous steps.
Firstly, we acquired Resting-State fMRI data from twenty subjects (normal controls) in three different conditions. We have used tDCS to modulate brain activity, and have proved two different montages of electrode location, and a sham stimulation condition. Moreover, the acquired data were preprocessed using SPM8 - Slice Timing Correction, Realign, Normalize and Smooth - and we used DPARSFA to Detrend, calculate ALFF and fALFF maps, Filtered (for ALFF) and Regressed out the following covariates: six motion parameters, global signal, white matter signal and CSF signal. Furthermore, we want to evaluate the differences in ALFF/fALFF maps in regions/networks targeted by the stimulation.
To that end, I have viewed the course tutorials many times, and my question in relation to the nuisance covariates was more in the direction of if it is required to add the covariate signals (6 motion parameters, WM, CSF, and global signal) in the statistical analysis module, something which is not completely clear in the videos.
Thanks again for the useful help. Any suggestion will be very appreciate.
Sincerely,
Cristian.
