order of regression and filtering

IS it possible to change the order of steps so that the regression of nuisance variables is done prior to the filter or simultaneous as in AFNI 3D BP? DO you think this is helpful?
I think some papers has discussed how different strategies effect the results.
For your question that if the order of filter and regression can be exchanged, I think you can refer to"Correlations and anticorrelations in resting-state functional connectivity MRI: A quantitative comparison of preprocessing strategies" (Neuroimage .2009).
According to their results, this order seems not to be very ctritical.
But still be carefull and not to compare the results from two different processing strategies directly.
DPARSF lists the filter first but within DPARSF can the order be changed? I don't have experience with this toolbox but wanted the flexibility to filter after regressing out the noise. THanks!
In DPARSF V2.2, users can alter the order of filtering and nuisance regression. The nuisance regression could be also peformed at a very early stage. Please refer to http://www.restfmri.net/forum/node/1135
