Global signal correction

Submitted by lucacocchi on
Hello,

DPARSF allows for the regression of the global signal. This correction is known to be problematic and I wonder if, in a near future, DPARSF could allow more sophisticated corrections such as the CompCor method (Behzadi et al., Neuroimage, 2008).

Best regards,

Hi Luca,

Thanks for your interests in our work.

GSR is an controversial issue, however, it does have some protection from head motion. We have a work in revision, hope will be out soon.

The CompCor method is on the route map as a further step in DPARSF.

Best,

Chao-Gan

Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm looking forward to test the update. New methods to deal with micro-movements have also been recently proposed (e.g. Power, NeuroImage). Implementing an optimized global signal and motion corrections will, possibly, improve the validity of the results. Anyway, thanks again for the toolbox. Regards, Luca
