The Laboratory for Brain Connectivity at (UESTC) is currently seeking postdocs

The Laboratory for Brain Connectivity is currently seeking multiple postdoctoral research fellows to join our lab. The lab was established in October 2017 by Bharat Biswal, a Foreign 1000 Talents Professor at UESTC, Chengdu. Our lab is part of the Center of Information in Medicine and the School of Life Science and Technology at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). The School/Center has a highly selective doctoral program (PhD issuance authority) in Biomedical Engineering and ranks No. 10 nationwide.

Our work broadly involves 3 areas of research: neurophysiological basis of brain connectivity, statistics and brain imaging data analysis, and neuroinformatics and big data. We currently have active collaborations with a number of prominent researchers including Drs. Dezhong Yao, Pedro Vades-Sosa, Ben Becker, Huafu Chen on a spectrum of other research topics. Our aim is to build a competitive team with 10 to 15 research scholars including Postdoc fellows, PhD. and Master students in the following few months.

We are currently seeking motivated postdoctoral research fellows to work on investigating various neurophysiological basis of connectivity using human and animal data. The fellow will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, integrating the findings of a broad spectrum of approaches including:

Ø  Resting state functional MRI

Ø  Diffusion tensor imaging

Ø  Cortical thickness

Ø  Voxel-based morphometry

Educational Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

The minimum qualifications for a successful candidate include:

·       Completed PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer sciences, neuroscience, psychology or related fields;

·       Extensive prior neuroimaging experience with functional MRI;

·       Strong skills in usage of one or more common functional neuroimaging (FSL, SPM, AFNI) packages;

·       Programming experience in Matlab, C/C++ or similar platform is a plus;

·       Ability to be a part of research team and work closely with our collaborators and mentor students to make sure the project progresses well.

Applicants should submit a cover letter with motivation for the position, long-term career goals, a CV with a list of publications (at least 2 publications in peer-reviewed journals) and 3 letters of recommendation.
